Admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
David has been the principal of David Towne PLC since 2009. He is a 1997 graduate of Albion College, where he was a member of the Gerald R. Ford Institute for Public Service and earned a B. A. in Political Science. As a law student, he interned with both the office of the Michigan Senate Majority Counsel and the Hon. Richard F. Suhrheinrich, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
After earning his J. D. cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 2002, David served as law clerk and research attorney to the Hon. Michael K. Hegarty. His subsequent practice experience included employment as in-house counsel for a large publicly-traded specialty finance corporation and private transactional and litigation practice.
David specializes in business and commercial law with an emphasis on creditors’ rights litigation. He has represented businesses both small and large in literally thousands of collection matters and in virtually every trial court in Michigan. As a respected member of the creditors’ bar, he has presented on creditors’ rights issues for other attorneys through the Institute for Continuing Legal Education and is a past or present member of several professional and community organizations.
